Review Policy

If you are an author or publisher and want us to review your book, please send your request with the minimum of the summary and cover image to bp.review.request (at) gmail (dot) com. If you have worked with Kayla in the past, please feel free to contact her directly at her personal email addresses. Currently, reviews are published here, Goodreads, Amazon, and whichever other sites accept reviews of your book.

PLEASE NOTE: Since Kayla is the only one actively reviewing (though it may not look like it at the moment), response time may be very slow. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Kayla

Kayla a fairly easy-going reader, and as a librarian, she needs to be pretty extensive. She reads children's literature, young adult, and adult books. Although she's reading mostly for her patron base, her favorite books have some sort of science fiction or fantasy element (hard core science fiction, space noir, epic fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal, dystopias, post-apocalyptic, fairy tale, horror, etc.), but she will and does read other genres. (She has been known to love mysteries and historical fiction.) Kayla alternates her reading frequently to avoid getting burned out on a genre. However, she does not read erotica because she is juvenile and it gives her the giggles.

Some other things that you need to know:
  • Kayla is accepting very few requests from new contacts and is focusing on authors, publicists, and publishers that she has worked with or solicited in the past.
  • Books that will be of interest to her library patrons will take precedence.
  • If your book has violence against children and/or animals, she will probably decline to review your book.
  • Rape is a very sensitive subject with Kayla. If your book has it in there, please let her know so she can make a more informed decision about whether or not to read your book.

FTC disclaimer: All of our reviews will be fair and unbiased. The books we review are received in exchange for an honest review from authors or publishers, bought personally, won in giveaways, borrowed from friends, or checked out from our local libraries. Receiving a book from an author or publisher or as a gift from another party will never influence the outcome of a review. We are not compensated for the reviews that we write, except in the sunshine and rainbows that are our readers.
