Top Ten Books I Would Love to See as Movies/TV Shows

1. And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

I recently finished this book, and I was very taken with it. The story follows nine different people and shows how their lives intersect. Some people I’ve talked to who have read this book had a hard time following the stories, but if this was made into a movie, and if you could put a person to the names, it would make it much easier.

2. First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones

I love this series! I will take a vacation day from work so I can read her books as soon as they come out. Charley is a Grim Reaper who helps people into the light. She also solves mysteries, is super funny and lusts after a hot man who may not be human.

Title: The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1)
Author:
Maggie Stiefvater
Price: $2.99

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

From Maggie Stiefvater, the bestselling and acclaimed author of the
Shiver trilogy and The Scorpio Races, comes a spellbinding new series where the inevitability of death and the nature of love lead us to a place we’ve never been before.

This book has an average of 4.02 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. I rated this 4 out of 5 stars. I adore Maggie Stiefvater, and I really enjoy this series. You can read Kayla's review here.

Humble Bookperk Bundle

No comments:

Okay, if you don't already know about Humble Bundle, you're going to be incredibly excited. I know I was when Bookboy told me about it when it was having a Doctor Who bundle and then again when Amber reminded me about it during their audiobook bundle. They have a LOT of awesome stuff, no matter what the week and/or deals are. And if you're a gamer, you'll be in hog heaven.

This week's Book Bundle is (that you pay various amounts for):

Another thing that I especially like about this site is that you get to decide how much of the money you pay goes to Humble Bundle, the publisher, and various charities. The charities this bundle supports are First Book, Science Fiction Writers of America Emergency Medical Fund, and Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

I just wanted to share with you guys. You are now free to return to your regularly scheduled programming.

To satisfy FTC guidelines, I am disclosing that I have not been compensated in any way for this post. I am merely sharing something that I personally enjoy with people that I like very much - you.

Top Ten Characters I Would Want With Me On A Deserted Island

1. Katsa
Graceling (Graceling Realm #1) by Kristin Cashore

Graced with killing, Katsa could protect me from the beasties on the island and make sure I don't starve.

2. Kate Daniels
3. Curran
4. Andrea
Magic Bites (Kate Daniels #1) by Ilona Andrews

My literary best friend and all-around bad-ass, Kate could kick anyone's ass and make me laugh the entire time we were stranded. I couldn't separate Kate from her mate, the Beast Lord, Curran, or from her best friend, Andrea, who are both bad-asses in their own rights.

Top Ten Tuesday: Series I Need to Finish

Top Ten Series I Need to Finish

1. Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty

I'm on book 4, Fourth Comings, and I actually have the rest of the books on my shelf. I'm just waiting until I'm in a book slump to use these as my rescues because I know they will be good.

2. In Death series by J.D. Robb

I'm on book 27, Salvation in Death. I like to take a break every few books, because while Nora Roberts is amazing, she does get a little repetitive. One of the best parts of this series is the relationship between Roarke and Eve, of course, but Eve's relationships with her fellow cops and friends are just as great. Because of this series, Susan Ericksen is currently my favorite narrator. She just does a stellar job on this series, and I can't imagine reading these books any other way. I would get so sad to not hear her inflections if I actually read the print version.
