Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Title: Waistcoats & Weaponry (Finishing School #3)
Author: Gail Carriger
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Release Date: November 4, 2014
Class is back in session...
Sophronia continues her second year at finishing school in style--with a steel-bladed fan secreted in the folds of her ball gown, of course. Such a fashionable choice of weapon comes in handy when Sophronia, her best friend Dimity, sweet sootie Soap, and the charming Lord Felix Mersey stowaway on a train to return their classmate Sidheag to her werewolf pack in Scotland. No one suspected what--or who--they would find aboard that suspiciously empty train. Sophronia uncovers a plot that threatens to throw all of London into chaos and she must decide where her loyalties lie, once and for all.
Gather your poison, steel tipped quill, and the rest of your school supplies and join Mademoiselle Geraldine's proper young killing machines in the third rousing installment in the New York Times bestselling Finishing School Series by steampunk author, Gail Carriger.
One of my favorite tongue-in-cheek steampunk authors is back! I didn't love this series as much as her Parasol Protectorate series when I first tried it, but it's on my list of favorites now. Sophronia is a girl after my own heart, and I can't wait to see what shenanigans she and her friends get into this time around.
I love the cover of the book, especially the background color!
ReplyDeleteThis series has some really pretty covers, and they generally match the tone set in the series. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI still haven't read this series but one day I plan to. Seems like just yesterday the sequel was releasing and now it's already onto the 3rd book, crazy! I hope you enjoy this one.
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy that the first one was just released last February! I hope you get to read the first one soon. You should check out her adult series first if you haven't already since they are set in the same world.
DeleteI didn't really like the first one, it was hard to get throught but hopefully this one will get better
ReplyDeleteHere's My WoW
I had a hard time with the first one, too, but I enjoyed it the second time around when I tried the audio book. If you like audio books, you should check out the second one that way to see if you like it better.
DeleteI agree the audios are awesome
DeleteI love, love, love this series. Thanks for sharing. Here's my Waiting on Wednesday
ReplyDeleteI love the covers of these books! I actually have the first one, but haven't had a chance to pick it up yet! However, I hope you enjoy this one when you get your hands on it, Amber!
