ReplyDeleteIt's hard to choose just one! Edgar Allan Poe is a favorite horror author of mine. I loved The Shining by Stephen King. Mostly I love ghost stories but I can't choose just one!

ReplyDeleteI really love The Experiment in Terror series by Karina Halle I would love any of those books but if I had to choose I would probably choose Lying Season I love the cover of the book for that one plus its my favorite!!!! I just love Dex and Perry though they both scare me at times.

I love all books scary. Preferably anything zombie or ghosts. I love any zombie book by Jonathan Maberry. Also a book of short stories that I bought from amazon called CreepyPasta.

ReplyDeleteI don't re-read books, just stick to a few authors. Harlan Coben is my favorite scary author, even though he may not write the traditional kind of scary book.

ReplyDeleteIt's hard to narrow it down, but I'll throw just one out there: Salem's Lot by Stephen King. It was the first "horror" book I ever read, and I still love it.

ReplyDeleteIt's not exactly SCARY, I won't say, but I really did like Anna Dressed in Blood. Also, Rebel Angel by Libba Bray gave me chills at parts!
ReplyDeleteIt by Stephen King is still my personal scariest ('cause clowns are just sooooo coreepy)-- Also high on my list is the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop...it's fantastic, dark and disturbing.

ReplyDeleteMost books I read are not scary, but rather more urban fantasy. I find that Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson series has some scary moments that give a few chills and thrills :) Thank you for participating in this fun hop.

ReplyDeleteI don't read real horror since Stephen King's Slem's Lot scare the what'sit out of me when I was a teenager. Two of my favorite spooky reads are Karen Marie Moning's Fever series and Stacia Kanes Downside Ghosts series.

ReplyDeleteHorror is my genre so to limit it to just one would be near impossible. A couple of my favorites though would be The Exorcist by William Blatty, IT by Stephen King, Books of Blood by Clive Barker, Dracula by Bram Stoker and The Rising by Brian Keene.
