Waiting on Wednesday (7)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Author: Kiera Cass
Publisher: HarperTeen
Release Date: April 24, 2012

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Of course, I have been wanting to read about this book for ages. It is also one of the books that I've chosen for the Debut Author Challenge (which I'm terribly behind on - don't judge me). Thankfully, I was lucky enough to score a signed ARC in a contest Kiera Cass held on her site. (We had to come up with the three rules for being a princess - I used the three rules from Fight Club. I've heard that it is fitting.)

This book is on my "Waiting On" list because I am so swamped with review requests, but I'll be able to get around to it in the next week or so. Until then, I am anxiously awaiting cracking it open!

What are you waiting on this week?

Have fun reading once you get around to it! :)

    1. Honestly, I lucked out in getting a copy. I don't get too many ARCs, but I am happy that this one made it my way. I'll definitely let you know if it's any good. :-D

    1. I'm excited about the book, but I can't let myself get too worked up over something compared to The Bachelor. Guilty pleasures are a win, though. :-)
