Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Own The Most Books From

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Ten Authors I Own The Most Books From
This one was pretty hard to figure out because a lot of my books are packed in boxes as I live in an apartment with only one bookcase, and I don't mark books as "owned" on Goodreads consistently. Also, my most read authors list doesn't necessarily correspond because I borrow most of the books I read from the library.

1. R.L. Stine
Over 50 Books

I think I own almost all of the 62 books in the original series of Goosebumps. I also own some of the spin-off series like Give Yourself Goosebumps. Apparently I was an obsessive reader even as a child.

2. Nora Roberts a.k.a. J.D. Robb
Over 30 Books

I've read through around 30 of the J.D. Robb series, In Death, and I own most of them as the library didn't have all of them, and I love Susan Ericksen's narration. I also pick up a lot of Roberts' books whenever I see them on sale at Audible or at book sales so there is really no telling how many are stashed in boxes somewhere.

3. Katherine Applegate
Less Than 20 Books

My Animorphs books are in storage with my Goosebumps, but I think I have the first 15 to 20 of the series.

4. Charlaine Harris
Around 15 Books

I own the complete Sookie Stackhouse series, but I also own a few of one of her other series, Harper Connelly.

5. Catherine Coulter
At least 10 Books

When I was a teenager, I was obsessed with the FBI (I still have dreams of being a special agent some day). I picked up the first 8 or so of Coulter's FBI Thriller series at a used bookstore. I also own a random assortment of Coulter's historicals.

6. Kresley Cole
10 Books

The library only had the first book in Cole's Immortals After Dark series, and it's pretty much crack, so of course I had to read the rest. The library has since ordered the rest, so I didn’t have to buy the last one.

7. Morgan Rice
8 Books

I actually haven't read any of the books in The Sorcerer's Ring series but strangely one by one they have gone on sale for free at Amazon so I keep downloading them. I just downloaded the ninth one this week, so I'm expecting the tenth one to go on sale soon. It soothes my OCD to have the complete set, even though I haven't read any of them yet.

8. Courtney Milan
8 Books

Author of some of the best historical fictions series including the Brothers Sinister and Turner series.

9. Jane Austen
At Least 7 Books

Does owning the same book in multiple formats count? I own Pride and Prejudice in ebook, audiobook, paperback and 2 hardbacks. Otherwise I have 6 of her other novels in one version or other.

10. Sarah MacLean
6 Books

Another great historical fiction author with series including Love By Numbers and The Rules of Scoundrels.

  1. Can I just say how awesome it is that you own all those Goosebumps books? I wish I would have kept the ones I read as a kid.

    1. Thanks! I just hate getting rid of books. It's why I buy a lot of books on Kindle these days. Less books that I'll have to pack up when I run out of room. :)

  2. I forgot about Charlaine Harris as I own 12 of the Sookie Stackhouse books.

  3. Wow! You must own a jillion books! I'm more of a library user than book owner, so this week was hard for me.

    1. I'm a library user too! My self-imposed rule is normally that I can only buy books that the library doesn't have. But sometimes, I'll buy the first book in a series on sale and then I HAVE to have the rest of the series....

Our lists have Kresley Cole in common! R.L. Stine would have been a shared author, too, if I had just held on to all my old Goosebumps books. Right now, I'm in the middle of collecting another Scholastic series: vintage copies of The Baby-sitters Club! That's why Ann M. Martin made my list. =) I also wanted to give Animorphs a try a few years ago, but I just couldn't get into the first book.

    1. I have a few vintage copies of Nancy Drew so I completely get The Baby-sitters Club collection! I don't know if I would like Animorphs if I read them now, but 12 year old science fiction geek me loved them. :)

  5. Jane Austen is on my list, too, but holy moly 50 and 30 books by the same author? You must really love those authors! The highest count I got was 12!
