Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Kick-Ass Heroines

Top Ten Favorite Kick-Ass Heroines
May Be Slightly Spoilery

10. Amy Cahill - The 39 Clues

Amy Cahill, along with her little brother Dan, had to go up against her entire family in a giant scavenger hunt to become the most powerful person in the world (or something like that). After the first series, she did intense training of martial arts and survival stuff to ready herself for a looming threat.

9. Anna Korlov - Anna Dressed in Blood

Anna is strong enough to tear a boy in half. However, she fights against the evil urges pushing her to violence. She's terrifying, but still seems vulnerable. Maybe that's not a good word, but let's just agree on awesome.

8. Katniss Everdeen - The Hunger Games

She risked death for her sister, fought in the Hunger Games twice, took part in a revolution, and made some really tough decisions. Plus, you don't want her pointing an arrow at you. That would be a very, very bad thing.

7. Will Scarlet - Scarlet

Scarlet runs around with Robin Hood and the gang in Sherwood Forest. She's a thief, she's an expert with knives, and she is also pretty adept at keeping her gender and identity secret. Just watch out for those repressed emotions.

6.Phèdre nó Delaunay - Kushiel's Legacy

Now this is a heroine that may not be a fighter, but Phèdre is an adept spy - and other things. Though she's not swinging the sword, she is able to save the world and tip the balance of altercations to her favor. I don't want to say too much because she is DEFINITELY not safe for all readers.

5. Ismae Rienne - Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin #1)

Okay, just imagine this. She's a nun AND an assassin. If that's not kick-ass, I really don't know what is.

4. Rachel Morgan - The Hollows

Rachel is a witch, and she's also a bit of a screw-up. She's loyal, headstrong, and takes determination to a fault. However, I wouldn't want anyone else on my side in a fight.

3. Sabina Kane - Sabina Kane

Sabina shares some faults with Rachel Morgan, but she is also callous, rude, and a bitch on top of that. If you're running around with a demon, a sexy mage, a fairy (slur and literal) and your grandmother is trying to kill you... Well, I think that can bring the bitch out in anyone.

2. Harry Crewe - The Blue Sword

Okay, Harry is kidnapped and taken into the wilderness by people who barely speak her language. Instead of being a victim, she trains to become a warrior. There's a lot more awesome stuff to it, but I won't go spoilery.

1. Hermione Granger - Harry Potter

Seriously, who else could be number one on this list? She is the embodiment of all things kick-ass and awesome.

  1. I'm a big fan of most of these ladies. Gotta love a female who can take care of herself.

  2. I agree with you on all of the books I've read from this list! (4/10) Woohoo!

I still think the Red-Headed Stepchild book looks hilarious. I snicker every time I see the cover.
