One Year Blogoversary

Honestly, I never believed for a moment that I would make it this far with the blog, yet here I am. I don't know how I ever managed it, but this is this 387th post for the year. I'm looking at BP's stats now, and it is very humbling. 72,000 pageviews, 891 GFC followers, and 127 followers via Feedburner - all I can say is that every person who has ever taken a moment of their time to visit my blog deserves a great big hug.

When I started the blog a year ago (it was technically in June, but one post does not make that the start of a blog), it was because I loved Kevin Hearne and Leah Clifford's books so much that I wanted to have a platform other than Goodreads to gush about them. While reading books for my library, and for BP, I have found many other books and authors that I have loved. I've also met more bloggers that I can think of off the top of my head that I both admire and respect. (Will being #1 for me since he's helped so much. You should shoot him a tweet and congratulate him on his very recent nuptials!) All of this has made me a much more well-rounded reader and taught me to have a greater appreciation of all books.

Since I've started the blog, I've had some changes in my personal life that has made blogging more difficult. There aren't as many reviews or return visits in the past few months because I've had to take a third job, which leaves me with about an hour and a half a day for blogging, reading, AND socializing. (It'll be sorted within the next few weeks.) There has also been an overwhelming amount of illnesses and deaths. I'm not going to bore you with more details, but I just felt that you should at least know why things have slowed down lately. (I'm actually rushing as I type this because I only have thirty minutes to write this post today.) I do plan on a blogoversary event in the coming days, as well as sharing my favorites of 2012 with you along with some fantastic novels that have been left behind. Oh, and there will be giveaways. Excited yet?

Basically, I just want to say thank you to anyone who is reading this. This blog is for you, and I appreciate the wonderful year that you helped create in 2012. I can't wait to see what awaits Bibliophilia, Please in 2013, and I hope to see you here.
